Countdown to Convention

Good Shepherd's delegate and I are heading out on Thursday morning, for what, we hope, will be either an inspiring convention, or an uneventful one. Most of us don't need more drama in our lives. Life presents enough conflict without needlessly creating more.

But maybe I'm being a little cynical. And a tad disingenuous.

What I'm REALLY hoping to see is a re-energized church, a church that's on fire for the kingdom of God, inspired by a holy vision of what God wants for us and the world. We have a wonderful opportunity to come together under the canopy of grace and show others that God can and does work with disparate people.

I'm hoping that we can work together in a common mission, bound together in baptism, as sisters and brothers, co-heirs with Christ.

But we'll see.

  1. I'm praying with you for that great canopy of grace, covering one colourful little bit in the greater entity of the Lutheran World Federation, meeting together this July in Stuttgart. (I just had to make that reference.)

  2. Margaret,

Thanks for the prayers! And for the LWF mention. It helps to know that we're all in Christ's mission together!
